ben's blog + other stuff

you stumbled across my blog, hello! this page will be incredibly simple as compared to all other parts of the site, mostly because i'm tired.
i'm not entirely sure what i'll put here, might just update weekly about how things are going, might just vent, no one really knows
either way, i hope you're enjoying the site so far. :-)

weekly update 1 sunday march 26, 2023

its been a long week, very long, not bad but not good aswell. amnesia has been beating my ass lately & i cannot remember what happened today, but its okay. a lot of healing has been going on within my sys, but i don't want to talk about that right now, what i do want to talk about is my newly discovered favorite drink ever. machiatos. machiatos are lifechanging, i had one and i felt as if the lord came from heaven & spoke to me and said "son, you know, despite everything going wrong, itll all be ok. heres a drink for all your troubles." lifechanging. i can say that i dislike the ones from larger coffee chains more than ones from other cafes, probably because with smaller cafes you can taste the love & smiles that went into making it. i had 2 of them this week, i wasnt able to make it to my favorite cafe more than once because they close at a time that i'm usually not avalible during.
in any event, i went to the book store, picked a book up for clover, she hasnt come out to read it yet but thats okay, she will soon. i cant remember much from this week cause,, yeah, but its alright, maybe ill remember more next week. thinking about doing these weekly checkins every sunday to keep track of everything. heres some herb plants that i own.

basil, parsley, and mint i think :-) oh yeah, ive been doing a bit more cooking lately. earlier i had some bruschetta toast & green tea. i should begin posting recipes here too lol, heres the recipe

  • baugette bread
  • olive oil
  • avocado oil (optional, adds more flavor though.
  • diced sundried tomatoes
  • feta cheese
  • balsamic vinegar

  • add parchment paper to pan and spread avocado oil OR olive oil onto the parchment, add sliced bread and drizzle olive oil onto that. add a pinch of sea salt if desired (not requred as the balsamic and feta already contain salt), place into oven for 10 minutes at 175f or until bread is hard / crispy. be careful to not burn it! remove bread and put onto plate, add desired amount of tomatoes, feta, and balsamic. you can also sautee mushrooms & add ontop aswell, thats how i usually eat mine. be careful cause it can get a bit messy if you add too many toppings, be sure to have a paper towel and spoon on hand just incase!
anyways, heres some of my favorite music from this week. lotus waters ghost cold
a story i have though, is that me & alex g's music goes way back, i began listening to him around 2016 i think. been listening to him ever since. his music makes me feel seen in some way, i dunno how to express it but his music makes me feel happy and more normal. it amplifies my appreciation for this lifetime and everything within it. happy to be alive. :-)
